Jude Emmet
Playwright
Writing Plays for Kids, One Act Plays, Short Plays
I have been working in theatre for most of my professional life, as actor, teacher, storyteller, director, broadcaster and playwright. In 2007 I joined a theatre company called Red Dog as associate director with special responsibility for education. I started writing Christmas plays for young children, most of which have been performed at the Everyman Studio Theatre in Cheltenham, and/or in Stroud, where I live and where Red Dog is based. “The Great Bear of the North” has been very successfully performed twice, and in 2012 it was runner-up for the Brian Way award, run by Theatre Centre in London, with whom I got my first acting job many years before!
My plays are easy to stage and can be performed by a minimum of 3 actors. They have all been very well received and seem to be appreciated by their 4 – 7 year old audiences plus parents and teachers!
Please contact me via Scripts for Stage if you have any queries, or to let me know of any productions that you may be planning of my play – I would love to come to watch if possible, but certainly to hear about them or see any photos.
