Adapted from the Hans Christian Andersen tale, when the rude and selfish Hu Chen becomes Emperor, he imprisons Lin Lin the Nightingale. This alienates his childhood friend and Kitchen Maid Mei Xing who leaves the palace. Hu Chen falls ill and soon realises the error of his ways, reconciling with Mei Xing and with a little humility, convincing Lin Lin to sing for him one more time.<\/p>\n
